The Linden Ponds Community Church

We are a senior, Christ-centered, faith-based, community church who welcomes all with love and joy!

Wherever you are on your individual journey of faith, you are welcome to join our unique and diverse community of faith! The purpose of our faith community is to provide opportunities for worship, mission outreach and fellowship, as well as to strengthen our personal faith.

For weekly worship, Linden Ponds Community Church (LPCC) gathers on Sunday mornings at 11:00am in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) located in the Derby Clubhouse on the Linden Ponds campus.

A unique spiritual community for Linden Ponds residents

In 2014, the Linden Ponds Community Church (LPCC) began as a community engagement mission of the United Church of Christ (UCC) in Norwell, Massachusetts. With weekly worship, pastoral care and visitation as well as mission and outreach opportunities, LPCC offers an inclusive Protestant church experience for residents of Linden Ponds, an Erickson Senior Living Community located in Hingham, MA. Initially financed by UCC Norwell’s Community Engagement Fund, LPCC is now a thriving, self-funded satellite church of UCC Norwell and is supported by a multi-denominational congregation of active worship participants.

If you are a resident of Linden Ponds or if you are soon to be a resident, you are invited to share in the work and worship as well as the mission and ministry of our vibrant faith community.

LPCC Faith Team

The Faith Team regularly meets on the third Sunday of each month (except July) at 12 noon in the Derby Clubhouse classroom. All interested church members or visitors are invited to attend.

Meet Rev. Dr. Barbara Therese

Rev. Dr. Barbara Therese is excited to join the staff as Pastor of Linden Ponds Community Church, a satellite congregation of UCC Norwell. Originally from the high desert of CA, Rev. Barbara’s spiritual journey began in the Roman Catholic Church before she discovered new ways of experiencing the Divine at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach, CA. A life-changing conversion in her twenties led her to pursue ordained ministry, which took her across the country to Princeton Theological Seminary.

With experience in a variety of settings—from youth ministry to prison ministry to hospital chaplaincy—Rev. Barbara has served in a diversity of communities, including urban New Jersey, metropolitan Miami, and suburban Massachusetts. She is particularly passionate about storytelling, inspired by Jesus, the great Teller of Parables. Recently she completed a Doctor of Ministry dissertation that explores how storytelling encourages sacred intimacy.

When she’s not in the pulpit, you’ll find Rev. Barbara running, praying, or sharing stories with her “chosen family” across New England, the Midwest, and the Southwest. Rev. Barbara’s Linden Ponds office is located on the Terrace Level of Woodland Crossing. She is on campus on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
